I guess this is an odd review since we did not end up keeping the coat - but alas that was only because of incorrect fit. Our hound is about 80 lbs, barrel chested, yet long and lean. I keep trying Kurgo products, as I think they are well made but she continually runs size wise between their L and XL. The L is never long enough and the girth on the XL is too big. Anyway, had it fit correctly we would have kept it! The coat is well constructed and beautifully designed. I particularly liked the sliding "clasps" for better chest fit. This is hard to explain but the upper clasp of the waist buckle is adjustable forward and backward length wise on the dog's body. It would accommodates all different chest sizes really well. The body coverage was nice, though like I said I think they always run a bit short compared to Ruff wear or Hurtta. Frankly a dog raincoat is for my convenience- so she doesn't come inside completely drenched to the bone, so I really want maximum coverage. The coat is lined with a lightly padded mesh and the outer material is a coated nylon, almost like a laminate over the top of the nylon. It's a little stiff but flexible enough for it's purpose and no doubt it's water proof as I have a swim bag made of the same type material. The coat is attractive and in a nice deep red.
